CIVIL WAR

CIVIL WAR

In agony and pain,

We groan and wane,

Death and sorrow,

Terminated dreams of tomorrow.

We called for it,

Now the light of war we lit,

Nna Nna Anyi hath thou watching?

Our village is going into extinction With this vigorous Killing.

Who shall we call,

What mode shall we install?

Our lads are home shivering,

Our stomach are starving.

Our strong men are kissing the dust,

Umuntakiri Ndi nwanyi captivated are turning food to eyes that lust,

What shall we say,

Our Night turning day.

Blood of the villagers paint the wall,

Now our men run some crawl,

This is too much,

No more choice but to hush.

We give in,

Our throats are thin,

With hands up and guns down, no more whack,

We are the prodigal sons accept us back.

NO MORE WAR
