Maduka Attamah

Take on the world

Captured by Mbe Nwaniga

I was reading this young man's CV last night and I thought to share it to encourage others. He designed and implemented “an artificial intelligence system that solves logic puzzles” in his Master's degree dissertation at the university of Liverpool.

That earned him the Ann Maybrey prize for the overall best MSc student in Computer Science in that university in 2012 and a PhD scholarship award by the same department. He completed his PhD in 2016 and is now a lecturer there.

He still write his name simply as Maduka Attamah but if he is in UNN,ESUT,FUTO,UNIZIK or anywhere near a Nigerian university, it would be a crime not to add the Dr title to his name.

The boy was entering UNN to read Elect/Elect Engineering when we were leaving in 2001. He became an award winning PhD holder before he turned 35 years.

If you believe you are intelligent and you have what it takes, then see the whole world as yours. You do not have to be looking for where to raise over one million naira to bribe them to get employed in UNN or start wailing about the quota system based employment in Nigeria.

The world will train you and retain you if you are smart. Just step out into the world. Step out and let the world see you. Leave the rest of us to claim intelligence on Facebook!!

“Witnessing the open community policy development process at the AfriNIC community led me to further appreciate the importance of the Policy Research Phase of the Diplo IGCBP. AfriNIC-13 was an eye opener...” - Maduka Attamah from Nigeria (Emerging Leaders for the Digital World (2011))
